Job Summary:

The Business Development Manager is a key role within Alexander Chemical Corporation, responsible for driving profitable growth in assigned markets and territories. This position requires a strong understanding of the chemical industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new business opportunities within assigned territories to achieve sales growth.
  • Maintain relationships with existing customers, identifying cross-selling opportunities and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Collaborate with the Inside Sales and Bids team to investigate and acquire intelligence required for bid pricing and contract extensions.
  • Establish and manage sales budgets, plans, and forecasts to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Develop and maintain a professional working knowledge of Alexander Chemical Corporation's product lines, including technical specifications and market trends.
  • Act as an ambassador for the company's CRM system, providing training and support to colleagues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a chemical discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in technical sales within the chemical industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to analyze market trends and develop innovative sales strategies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems, preferably eChempax or similar industry-specific systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sufficient mobility to access customer plant sites and Alexander Chemical Corporation facilities.
