Job Summary

The Executive Director, Business Development will lead the Commercial Leadership Team and be responsible for driving the Business Development growth strategy and team within their region. This role will ensure customer satisfaction and strategic sales growth year over year by working collaboratively across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Business Development growth strategy and team within their region.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and strategic sales growth year over year.
  • Work closely with the CCO and other Executive Director, Business Development leaders to build strategy and business plan for Business Development.
  • Drive the team in identifying, prioritizing, and targeting prospective new business leads.
  • Identify and develop new business relationships, creating pitch opportunities and obtaining new business wins.
  • Collaborate with operations and business development to create new business opportunities with new accounts and existing accounts within all customer segments.
  • Provide regular, accurate forecasts and meet or exceed company goals.
  • Lead sales activities that result in meeting or exceeding annual targets within existing assigned strategic customers.
  • Conduct regular customer business reviews and prepare issue analysis, status updates, and special reporting for key client leaders.
  • Understand changes in the industry and utilize insight from market research to determine current business needs and opportunities for future business growth.
  • Build and foster an environment of excellence by assessing current talent and developing a high-performing team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, life sciences, or related field required.
  • 12+ years of solid experience in various facets of business development, including leading sales and business development teams.
  • 5 years' experience recruiting, developing, leading, and managing a high-performing team.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and grow revenue targets.
  • Deep understanding of strategies to influence and speed sales cycles while maximizing revenue growth.
  • Executive presence and proven experience in sales and client relationship management.
  • Ability to maintain energy and entrepreneurial approach/thinking.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Commitment to work collaboratively and cross-functionally.
