Position Summary:
The Norfolk County Sheriff's Office is seeking a dedicated NCSO Special Events Community Coordinator to play a pivotal role in fostering positive connections with diverse community groups. This position is primarily responsible for the planning, organization, and execution of monthly events designed for various demographics, including veterans, seniors, public safety entities, educational institutions, and more, thereby enhancing public safety awareness and community involvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Event Planning and Coordination: Design and implement events that reflect the values of the office. Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure event success.
  • Community Engagement: Cultivate relationships by actively engaging constituents in events.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Identify and develop partnerships to maximize the impact of events.
  • Event Marketing and Promotion: Create effective outreach strategies to engage targeted audiences.
  • Resource Management: Oversee event resources while adhering to budgetary guidelines.
  • Feedback and Assessment: Collect and analyze feedback to improve future events.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records of events and prepare necessary reports.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all events comply with relevant regulations and safety protocols.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in relevant fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in event planning and community outreach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in various communication tools and platforms.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
  • Familiarity with the local community and experience in budget management is preferred.
Work Environment:
This role involves close collaboration with internal departments, local organizations, and community members, reporting directly to the Director of Community Engagement.
