Role Purpose:

Under the general guidance of the Intact Services Team Supervisor, this position involves providing experienced, short-term, intensive child welfare case management services to intact families identified as high-risk. The role includes assessing safety and risk factors affecting child welfare to facilitate the possibility of children remaining in their homes. Responsibilities encompass developing appropriate short-term safety plans, evaluating parents' service needs, crafting and executing service plans, and ensuring follow-up with families to confirm connections with service providers. The position also entails preparing and maintaining comprehensive case documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting in-person meetings with children, biological parents, and foster or relative caregivers as mandated by DCFS.
  • Coordinating and leading required Child and Family Team meetings, actively involving children and families in the process.
  • Monitoring interactions between parents and children as necessary.
  • Providing transportation for clients when required.
  • Securing necessary consents from families and service providers.
  • Assisting families in accessing community resources.
  • Participating in ongoing training related to DCFS requirements.
  • Delivering counseling and support services to families.
  • Referring families and children to additional services as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field from an accredited institution recognized by the Council on Social Work Education, along with one year of relevant social welfare experience.
  • Experience in case management.
  • Bilingual proficiency is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Current auto insurance coverage.
  • Capability to transport clients as necessary.
  • Ability to secure DCFS Licensure within 60 days of employment.
  • Successful completion of the CANS Exam, Child Endangered Risk Assessment Protocol (CERAP) Exam, Specialty Exam, and DCFS CWEL Exam.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
