Role Purpose:

Under the guidance of the Intact Services Team Supervisor, the Bilingual Family Support Case Manager is responsible for providing skilled, short-term, intensive child welfare casework services to families in high-risk situations. This role involves assessing safety and risk factors that affect child welfare, ensuring children can remain safely at home. The case manager will create appropriate short-term safety plans, evaluate parents' service needs, develop and implement service plans, and follow up with families to ensure effective connections with service providers. Additionally, the role includes monitoring progress and offering immediate support to families seeking non-investigatory prevention services while maintaining thorough case documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-person meetings with children, biological parents, and foster or relative caregivers as mandated by DCFS.
  • Organize and facilitate necessary Child and Family Team meetings, actively involving children and families in the process.
  • Observe and assess parent-child interactions as required.
  • Provide transportation for clients when necessary.
  • Secure necessary consents from families and service providers.
  • Assist families in accessing community resources.
  • Engage in ongoing training related to DCFS requirements.
  • Offer counseling and support services to families.
  • Refer families and children to additional services as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field from an accredited institution recognized by the Council on Social Work Education, along with one year of relevant social welfare experience.
  • Experience in case management is essential.
  • Bilingual proficiency is preferred.
  • Must obtain and maintain certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Current auto insurance is required.
  • Ability to transport clients as necessary.
  • Must obtain DCFS Licensure within 60 days of employment.
  • Successful completion of the CANS Exam, Child Endangered Risk Assessment Protocol (CERAP) Exam, Specialty Exam, and DCFS CWEL Exam is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is necessary.
