WiTricity is in search of a Lead Embedded Software Testing Engineer to play a pivotal role in the development and upkeep of testing frameworks for embedded software related to our innovative Wireless Charging Electric Vehicle Solutions. This position involves close collaboration with firmware testing and design professionals to ensure comprehensive system testing and validation.

We are looking for individuals who have a proven track record in guiding teams and mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and enhance testing frameworks for embedded software to validate the functionality of cutting-edge systems.
  • Oversee the Firmware Testing Engineering team, providing mentorship to junior team members.
  • Design and execute tests for new embedded software features and documentation.
  • Collaborate with firmware engineers and cross-disciplinary team members to integrate, test, and troubleshoot system components.
  • Support current embedded software designs and offer hands-on assistance for system testing and validation.
  • Create test plans, perform tests, and compile reports on new embedded software features and documentation.
  • Utilize version control systems for maintaining the codebase, ensuring proper revision control and release management.
  • Manage the software release process and continuous integration efforts.
  • Effectively juggle multiple projects and independently manage their requirements.
  • Ensure customer requirements are understood and integrated within the defined project scopes.
  • Identify special product and process characteristics in compliance with customer or company specifications.
  • Provide guidance and training to the organization, equipping teams with necessary tools and methodologies.
  • Identify training needs within the team and develop awareness programs.
  • Apply engineering principles through mentoring, training, and project reviews, including methodologies such as FMEA and APQP.
  • Understand measurement systems analysis concepts.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-7+ years of relevant experience in embedded programming design or testing.
  • Proven ability to lead project teams and mentor less experienced engineers.
  • Proficient in C/C++, Python, Bash, and Batch scripting.
  • Solid understanding of continuous integration tools such as Jenkins and Artifactory.
  • Extensive experience with development tools like Raspberry Pi and Arduino.
  • Skilled in using microcontroller IDE design and development tools.
  • Experienced in lab debugging, including the use of power supplies, oscilloscopes, and in-circuit debuggers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with a positive attitude.
  • Proactive and accountable, capable of working independently while being a reliable team player.
  • Familiarity with product hardware and software engineering risk analysis methods.
  • Ability to analyze measurement variation and assess measurement system capability.
  • Knowledge of ASPICE, ISO 26262, and ISO 21434 standards.
  • Experience in maintaining the integrity and security of embedded software systems throughout their lifecycle.
Preferred Skills:
  • Proficient with version control software such as SVN and GIT.
  • Ability to interpret circuit schematics and PCB layout designs.
  • Understanding of fundamental communication protocols.
