Key Responsibilities- Gather and Analyze Metrics: Collect and analyze metrics from operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.
- Partner with Development and Operations Teams: Collaborate with development and operations teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures, perform root cause analyses, and implement solutions.
- Improve Existing Systems: Improve existing systems through automation and uplifts, ensuring high-quality and effective solutions for dental professionals and patients worldwide.
- Participate in System Design Consulting and Platform Management: Contribute to system design consulting and platform management, balancing feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service-level objectives.
- Run the Production Environment: Monitor availability and take a holistic view of system health, ensuring the reliability and performance of our systems.
- Build Software and Systems: Develop software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications, ensuring seamless integration and high-quality solutions.
- Improve Reliability and Quality: Improve the reliability and quality of products in our microservice architecture, ensuring high-quality and effective solutions for dental professionals and patients worldwide.
- Measure and Optimize System Performance: Measure and optimize system performance, pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating for continual improvement.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree: Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or relevant experience.
- At Least 5 Years' Experience: Have at least 5 years' experience in a Site Reliability Engineering/Platform Engineering/DevOps role or similar.
- Excellent Troubleshooting Skills: Possess excellent troubleshooting skills and proven experience resolving production downtime with immediate and long-term solutions.
- Deep Understanding of Algorithms and Software Design: Have a deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis, and software design.
- Good Analytical and Communication Skills: Possess good analytical skills coupled with excellent communication skills, with professional English required and German a bonus.
- Google Associate Cloud Engineer Certification: Hold at least Google Associate Cloud Engineer certification, with higher certifications a bonus.
- Kubernetes and GCP Cloud: Experience with Kubernetes and GCP cloud both as an admin and user.
- Software Development Experience: Previous software development experience in one of Golang, C++, or any other modern programming language, with Flutter experience a bonus.
- Relational Databases and Linux: Extensive knowledge of relational databases, file systems, and Linux.
- Monitoring Tools and Project Tracking Software: Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog) and project tracking software (e.g., Jira).
- CI and CD Pipelines: Proficiency in building/maintaining CI and CD pipelines.
- Container Orchestration Platforms: Experience working with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
- Systems Automation and IT Security: Good understanding of systems automation and IT security.
