Position Overview

As a Program Management Lead at Boston Dynamics, you will play a pivotal role in the advancement of our innovative Spot team. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee program execution and ensure alignment with overarching business objectives. You will manage the integrated schedule for the product line and guide the core development team through the complete product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior management to establish project goals, scope, and specifications.
  • Formulate strategic plans and roadmaps to direct the implementation of technical initiatives.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of technical projects from inception to conclusion.
  • Set project timelines, milestones, and deliverables while monitoring progress to ensure compliance with schedules and budgets.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, design, and quality assurance, to synchronize project activities and priorities.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among team members to promote project success.
  • Manage project resources, including personnel, budget, and equipment, ensuring optimal allocation to meet project requirements.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges that may affect project delivery, developing strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including customers and executives, to provide updates, gather insights, and address any concerns.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and best practices to enhance project delivery efficiency.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for enhancement and implement necessary corrective measures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, etc.) or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years in a program management capacity, overseeing multiple programs and timelines.
  • A strong passion for problem-solving and a keen ability to grasp the broader context while maintaining focus on technical details.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of translating complex technical information into clear, concise formats.
  • Proven experience utilizing a variety of project management tools and methodologies throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Ability to recognize and articulate team priorities in alignment with overall company objectives.
  • Significant experience in technical program/project management within a commercial environment that has launched customer-facing industrial products.
  • Demonstrated success in establishing sustainable processes across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with complex software and hardware systems.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience in production and manufacturing operations.
  • Hands-on experience in developing public-facing emerging technologies.
  • A broad technical background and understanding of robotics systems at a product level.
  • Familiarity with EX/ATEX/HAZLOC products and related functional safety standards.
