About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team as a Project Manager. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive solutions for complex civil engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead complex civil engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, and landscape architects, to design and develop innovative solutions.
  • Develop and implement project plans, budgets, and resource allocation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Conduct site investigations and perform due-diligence analyses to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Design and develop civil engineering systems, including drainage and utility layouts, and slope and shoreline stabilization.
  • Investigate and analyze failures and performance issues of civil engineering systems.
  • Develop and implement sustainable development concepts, including urban recharge and flood exposure mitigation.
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, and design flexible and rigid pavements.
  • Collaborate with clients and external project teams to develop and implement project solutions.
  • Manage and delegate tasks to project staff, providing coaching and guidance as needed.
  • Prepare proposals, including budgeting and personnel requirements, and plan work for approval by your supervisor.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of relevant civil engineering experience or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Professional licensure required.
  • MS or PhD with a concentration in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university, or desire to obtain an MS within 4 years of employment at SGH using the tuition reimbursement program.
  • Affiliation with industry organizations such as the American Society of Civil Engineers or other active civil organization, including working on committees, presentations, or other active participation.
  • Demonstrated advanced technical knowledge within your area of technical expertise.
  • Ability to integrate the work of several technical experts into an effective solution.
  • Prior exposure to similar project types and awareness of related outside technical resources.
  • Skill in personal time management and project scope management.
  • Ability to identify and manage changes in scope.
  • Expertise in computer analysis software (e.g. XPStorm or XPSWMM, Civil3d, AutoCAD, AutoTurn, HydroCAD, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel to out-of-state project sites on occasion and ability to travel to remote job sites not accessible by public transportation.
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
