We are currently seeking a Product Safety System Engineer specializing in mobile machinery, automotive, or automation sectors. This position is pivotal in ensuring safety design and adherence to technical standards and regulatory requirements, working closely with product management, engineering, system integration, and maintenance teams. The role emphasizes a significant contribution to the safety of autonomous mobile robots throughout their lifecycle. We are looking for candidates with extensive cross-disciplinary expertise and experience in risk-based analysis, systems engineering, and functional safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct task-oriented risk assessments with internal stakeholders.
  • Perform failure analysis at both component and system levels for autonomous mobile robots.
  • Formulate the Technical Safety Concept and Product Safety Requirements Specifications.
  • Design and oversee a Safety Plan for safety functions in accordance with IEC 61508, applicable at both product and system levels.
  • Lead and document risk assessments, compliance reports, impact analyses, and change management processes.
  • Produce and manage the development and revision of internal and external technical documentation.
  • Review manuals to ensure that all residual risks are communicated and that manuals meet compliance standards.
  • Monitor and document the completion of verification reviews and tests for safety functions and other safety requirements specific to mobile autonomous robots.
  • Contribute to training initiatives, customer support, and field engineering activities.
  • Engage in additional tasks related to supporting and advancing safety technology for autonomous robots.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering (Robotics, Computer Science, Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or related fields).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering for complex mechatronic systems and robotics.
  • Strong background in Systems Engineering, risk assessment methodologies, and quality process management.
  • Expertise in developing and implementing validation and verification plans.
  • Proven experience in advocating for formal compliance processes.
  • Familiarity with functional safety standards (IEC61508, ISO 26262, ISO/-2).
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects through various development stages.
  • Experience with PLM tools for functional safety, software development, and compliance.
  • Proficient in authoring, reviewing, and approving safety requirements, with expertise in Jama and Jira being particularly advantageous.
