Position Summary

We are in search of a highly proficient and driven Director of High Performance Computing (HPC) to spearhead the creation of innovative HPC solutions. The successful candidate will possess a solid background in systems design, distributed systems, and computer architecture, showcasing a proven ability to design low-latency, dependable, cloud-based applications.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in High Performance Computing to propel the advancement of physics simulation, utilizing next-generation technologies such as cutting-edge computational chips, cloud scalability, and AI-enhanced capabilities. Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement systems architecture, focusing on distributed systems and computer architecture.
  • Demonstrate expertise in creating architectures for distributed, low-latency, and reliable cloud-based applications while developing and maintaining hybrid cloud compute and storage solutions.
  • Lead the integration of HPC with cloud computing, encompassing databases, frontend libraries, microservices, and monolithic applications.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of scientific computing and the pivotal role of GPUs in accelerating computational applications.
  • Oversee the utilization of computing clusters equipped with high-speed interconnects, optimizing for performance and efficiency.
  • Guide a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, hands-on experience, and continuous learning.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, electronic information engineering, communication engineering, or related disciplines.
  • More than 8 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 5 years in HPC computing, system administration, databases, and networking.
  • Strong foundation in computer science, with proficiency in Python, Java, MPI, and distributed computing environments.
  • Experience in compiling and installing C++ source code.
  • Expertise in architecting AWS cloud computing and cloud storage solutions.
  • Proficient in Linux operating systems, software deployment (such as Ansible), SaaS, networking, and backend security.
  • Ability to learn and innovate in a dynamic startup environment, implementing industry-leading software solutions.
  • Experience in web frontend design is a plus but not mandatory.
