Salary Information: $15,176 per semester.

Work Hours: 40 hours per week, exempt.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties
  1. Deliver instructional hours and provide office hours for student consultations.
  2. Teach 1 to 4 courses based on availability and enrollment.
  3. Engage in Special Projects as assigned.
  4. Participate in faculty meetings focused on curriculum, assessment, and program evaluation.
  5. Contribute to committees related to CEA Accreditation and other Special Projects.
  6. Assist with student placement testing at the semester's start and during TOEFL assessments.
  7. Evaluate and counsel students regarding their performance using established curriculum objectives and assessment tools.
  8. Complete administrative documentation in a timely manner.
  9. Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
  10. Input grades into the academic management system promptly.
  11. Advise students on their academic progress, behavior, and attendance.
  12. Participate in student activities and excursions as scheduled.
  13. Attend departmental meetings, including Global Initiatives meetings and retreats.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • M.A. in TESL or related field.
  • Experience in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL), instructional methodologies, second language acquisition, or related fields.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly with non-native English speakers.
  • Strong classroom management abilities, fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Adaptability in teaching methods to accommodate diverse student needs.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and current best practices in ESL education.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as a team member and adapt to changes professionally.

Working Conditions

This position will primarily be located on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the responsibility of the employee.
