Position Overview: This position remains open until filled.
Compensation: $15,176 per semester.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, exempt.

Primary Duties
- Deliver assigned instructional hours and conduct office hours for student consultations.
- Instruct 1 to 4 courses based on availability and enrollment.
- Engage in Special Projects as assigned.
- Participate in faculty meetings focused on curriculum, assessment, and program evaluation.
- Contribute to committees related to CEA Accreditation and other Special Projects.
- Assist with initial student placement testing and TOEFL assessments.
- Evaluate and counsel students regarding their academic performance using established curriculum objectives and assessment tools.
- Complete administrative documentation efficiently and in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
- Input grades into the learning management system promptly.
- Advise students on their academic progress, behavior, and attendance.
- Participate in student activities and trips as scheduled.
- Attend departmental meetings, including Global Initiatives meetings and retreats.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Master's degree in TESL or a related field.
- Experience in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL), instructional methodologies, second language acquisition, or related areas.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly with non-native English speakers.
- Strong classroom management abilities to foster a positive learning environment.
- Capability to adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse student needs.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with best practices in ESL education.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and adapt to professional changes.
- UTSA maintains a tobacco-free campus.
- This position is classified as security sensitive, contingent upon a successful background check.
- Selected applicants must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States upon hire.
- A valid driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) may be required.
This role will primarily be conducted on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the responsibility of the employee.
