Position Overview: This position remains open until filled.

Compensation: $15,176 per semester.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, exempt.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties
  1. Deliver assigned instructional hours and conduct office hours for student consultations.
  2. Instruct 1 to 4 courses based on availability and enrollment.
  3. Engage in Special Projects as assigned.
  4. Participate in faculty meetings focused on curriculum, assessment, and program evaluation.
  5. Contribute to committees related to CEA Accreditation and other Special Projects.
  6. Assist with initial student placement testing and TOEFL assessments.
  7. Evaluate and counsel students regarding their academic performance using established curriculum objectives and assessment tools.
  8. Complete administrative documentation efficiently and in a timely manner.
  9. Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
  10. Input grades into the learning management system promptly.
  11. Advise students on their academic progress, behavior, and attendance.
  12. Participate in student activities and trips as scheduled.
  13. Attend departmental meetings, including Global Initiatives meetings and retreats.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in TESL or a related field.
  • Experience in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL), instructional methodologies, second language acquisition, or related areas.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly with non-native English speakers.
  • Strong classroom management abilities to foster a positive learning environment.
  • Capability to adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse student needs.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with best practices in ESL education.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and adapt to professional changes.
