Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to join our Intensive English Program at St. Mary's University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English language courses to international students and contributing to the development of our ESL curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach English language courses to international students, including grammar, reading, writing, and speaking skills.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of diverse learners.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and submit course grades in a timely manner.
  • Participate in monthly faculty meetings to discuss program developments and best practices.
  • Design and deliver assessments that align with student learning objectives.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student success.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum changes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the program director.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or higher preferred.
  • ESL certification (preferably TESOL, CELTA, TEFL).
  • Two years of teaching experience at the university level.
  • Experience in using learning management systems, such as Canvas.
  • Knowledge of current second-language acquisition trends.
  • Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and reliably.
  • Must clear and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance.
