Position Overview

As a Human Resources Coordinator, you will play a vital role in the personnel operations within the Marine Corps Recruiting Command.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Career transition candidates (CTAP, ICTAP, RPL)

    Federal employees classified as "surplus" or "displaced".
  • Current or former federal employees in competitive service.
  • Individuals from land and base management agencies with relevant experience.
  • Military spouses and veterans.
  • Persons with disabilities.
  • Individuals eligible under special hiring authorities as defined by federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Independently create and manage case files while ensuring an organized and digital personnel file system for officer candidates.
  • Assist in the financial oversight and management of the officer selection team's marketing budget.
  • Gather and maintain essential documentation for payroll processing.
  • Coordinate and initiate security clearance procedures for officer candidates.
  • Prepare and compile appointment request packages.
  • Draft and produce all official correspondence, lists, vouchers, medical documents, reports, and memoranda for the officer selection team.
Employment Conditions
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must meet suitability standards for federal employment.
  • Participation in the direct deposit pay program is mandatory.
  • New hires must successfully complete the E-Verify employment verification process.
  • Time-in-grade requirements must be fulfilled by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Retired military personnel must adhere to specific provisions regarding civilian employment.
  • Males born after a certain date must be registered with Selective Service.
  • Security clearance requirements must be met prior to employment commencement.
  • Training and maintenance of a government credit card for travel-related expenses are required.
  • This role may involve travel to various locations, including remote sites, and candidates must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
Qualifications

Your application must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in federal service or comparable experience in the private sector. Specialized experience should include clerical support tasks such as administering background checks, reviewing documentation, and processing applications for commissioning programs.
