The role of a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT is critical within the Marine Corps Recruiting Command. This position involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at supporting the recruitment and selection process for officer candidates.
Eligibility Criteria
- Open to career transition candidates, federal employees, military spouses, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and those eligible under special authorities.
- Independently create and manage case files while maintaining an organized and electronic personnel filing system for officer candidates.
- Assist in the financial oversight and management of the officer selection team's marketing budget.
- Gather and preserve all necessary documentation to ensure accurate pay records.
- Initiate and facilitate the security clearance process for officer candidates.
- Prepare appointment request packages and manage official correspondence, including lists, vouchers, medical documents, reports, and memoranda for the officer selection team.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and deemed suitable for federal employment.
- Participation in the direct deposit pay program is mandatory.
- Compliance with E-Verify employment verification checks is required.
- Must meet time-in-grade requirements if currently a federal employee.
- Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance prior to starting the position.
- Travel may be required, including to remote or isolated locations.
Applicants should demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in federal service or comparable experience in the private sector. This experience should include clerical support functions such as conducting background screenings, reviewing documentation, and processing applicant packages for commissioning programs.
