Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team at Plantscape Inc. as a strategic partner to our senior leadership team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all services related to recruiting, retaining, and supporting our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Talent Acquisition and Development: Manage the talent acquisition process, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding. Partner with hiring managers on job requirements, interviewing, and selection. Develop referral networks and recruitment pipelines.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all laws and regulatory activities such as EEO, ACA, USERRA, ADA, ERISA, Worker's Compensation, Unemployment, and FMLA.
  • Benefits Administration: Administer benefit programs such as health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurances, 401K, and COBRA for the company. Administer annual bidding program for all company insurance and assist in vendor selection.
  • Employee Relations and Investigations: Manage injury reporting/investigation and claims for worker's compensation, short-term disability, and long-term disability. Manage accident and property damage reporting/claims, including assisting employees with filing of claims and securing payment.
  • Unemployment Claims and Investigations: Manage unemployment claims/investigations/appeals.
  • Safety and Training: Chair the Safety Committee and conduct or oversee periodic safety education programs with employees, including driver's safety, hazard communications, general safety, and sexual harassment.
  • Performance and Compensation Reviews: Coordinate and facilitate timely performance and compensation reviews by managers, as well as proper internal documentation/filing. Conduct and review wage and benefits surveys; recommend wage policies.
  • Training and Development: Oversee company-wide training and development; coordinate and deliver training programs for employees. Administer and review training feedback, maintain training records, and recommend training opportunities.
  • Employee Support and Conflict Resolution: Advise and support managers with department orientation, training, policies, and procedures, as well as employment matters such as discipline, transfer, promotion, layoff, and termination. Oversee investigations and resolutions of employee complaints, concerns, and conflicts. Counsel employees and provide general training on professional development.
  • Policy Development and Maintenance: Oversee employment policies; update and maintain the employee handbook. Recommend new policies in accordance with employment law and best practices; partner with management to communicate and train on policies.
  • Workplace Improvements and Employee Experience: Assist in coordinating general workplace improvements to enhance employee morale, work conditions, and employee experience. Conduct exit interviews and share feedback as appropriate. Assist in administration of annual employee survey; analyze results and make recommendations for improvement.
  • H2B Non-Immigrant Visa Process: Oversee H2B non-immigrant visa process, including documentation, compliance, and onboarding.
  • HRIS and Data Analysis: Maintain the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and make recommendations for HR technology improvements. Coordinate with finance/accounting personnel on biweekly payroll. Track and analyze key HR data.
  • Senior Leadership Team Member: Serve as a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Assist in preparing agendas and coordinating schedules. Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership to set and achieve company objectives.
  • Strategic Partner to the President: Assist and advise the President on human resources, organizational development, workforce planning, corporate communications, and other topics as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in a Human Resources position
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred
  • Highly proficient in Paylocity and/or ADP and other computer programs, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), and Payroll/HRIS systems
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws, including continuing education to stay abreast of changes to employment law and best practice
  • Ability to ethically handle confidential information
  • Ability to conduct thorough and impartial investigations
  • Recruiting, interviewing, counseling, coaching, strong training/presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, decision-making, development/planning, performance gap analysis, and conflict management skills
  • Highly developed organizational and prioritizing abilities, with prior administrative expertise preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, function independently and accurately, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively and enthusiastically with other staff members, clients, and vendors in a pleasant and productive manner
  • Willingness and ability to be flexible to changing needs and objectives of a growing business process
  • Experience and knowledge of the H2B program preferred
