SUMMARY

The After-School Program Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing the educational and personal growth of students. This position is responsible for ensuring a secure and stimulating environment for children by effectively executing the program's curriculum and daily activities. Key responsibilities include guiding children in various activities, overseeing snack and outdoor play, addressing children's daily needs, maintaining cleanliness, and facilitating group interactions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the school administration to deliver engaging and age-appropriate educational enrichment programs that extend learning beyond the classroom.
  • Establish and nurture professional relationships through clear and timely communication with school leadership, program staff, and other personnel, including custodians and food service workers. Work collaboratively as a team member by sharing insights and information regularly.
  • Assist school leadership in addressing the ongoing needs of students and their families.
  • Implement program protocols effectively to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
  • Observe, engage, and participate in children's recreational activities.
  • Foster a safe and healthy environment adhering to established safety standards.
  • Effectively manage inappropriate behaviors and apply the program's discipline framework to guide proper conduct among students.
  • Support the emotional and social growth of children.
  • Report any issues or inquiries related to the program, including concerns about students, parents, equipment, and supplies, to school leadership.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records, including attendance, snack logs, incident reports, and other documentation as directed by the program director to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
  • Assist in preparing snacks for children and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and snack areas.
  • Help in tidying up the room and equipment before, during, and after the program, which includes cleaning tables, chairs, and toys, as well as securing the facility at the end of the day.
  • Exhibit professional, ethical, and responsible behavior at all times.
  • Demonstrate a passion for working with students and support their holistic development through the responsibilities outlined above.
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  2. Strong sense of professionalism.
  3. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
