The Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin is a dedicated non-profit organization focused on enhancing the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and related disabilities through comprehensive awareness, education, information, programs, services, and community engagement.

We offer a range of programs and services that span the lifespan, including support for new and expectant parents, children's services, adult services, vocational training, and aging services, alongside educational events.

We are currently seeking a Community Day Program Specialist in Southeast Wisconsin. This role is essential to our Community Day Program team, ensuring effective case coordination and direct service delivery to individuals in the region.

The Community Day Program Specialist will oversee the implementation of our programs at a designated community center. Responsibilities include managing community partnerships, serving as the primary parent liaison, scheduling, curriculum oversight, and ensuring participant safety. This role also involves leading instructional activities throughout the week.

As the main contact for families and funding sources, the Community Day Program Specialist will engage in case management, conduct participant intakes, and facilitate program tours. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with disabilities and possess strong organizational skills to support program coordination.

Familiarity with technology is crucial, as the Community Day Program Specialist will need to adapt to new systems, including case management software. Proficiency in MS Office and G Suite is expected, and experience with participant management systems is advantageous.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Supervisory experience preferred but not mandatory
  • Valid driver's license and insured vehicle required
  • Successful completion of a caregiver background check

Compensation and Benefits
