Position Overview: This role is for an After School Educator at a Head Start and/or Early Head Start center. The working hours for this position are from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The After School Educator will collaborate closely with the Lead Teacher to ensure the effective functioning of a classroom, adhering to the Head Start/Early Head Start operational schedule. Additionally, this role involves working alongside a team of fellow educators and family members to implement the curriculum, ensuring successful outcomes for children of diverse abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communication and Coordination: Facilitate effective communication and service coordination.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records and reporting.
  • Ongoing Assessment: Engage in continuous monitoring and self-assessment.
  • Learning Experience Planning: Design and implement educational activities that promote the intellectual and physical growth of children, enhancing their readiness for school through literacy, language development, and problem-solving skills.
  • Safe Learning Environment: Establish and uphold a secure and healthy learning atmosphere.
  • Social and Emotional Support: Foster the social and emotional growth of children.
  • Family Engagement: Encourage family involvement in the Head Start program and nurture relationships between children and their families.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift a child weighing up to 40 pounds, as needed.
  • Basic computer skills, including email, word processing, and internet navigation.
  • Successful completion of a physical examination and all required background checks.

Compensation: $15.50 per hour.
