Charlotte Animal Referral & Emergency is a premier, independently owned 24-hour Emergency and Specialty Referral Hospital dedicated to providing exceptional care in Charlotte, NC. Our board-certified specialists offer a range of services including internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, surgery, oncology, and ophthalmology, complemented by advanced diagnostic capabilities such as ultrasonography, echocardiography, electroencephalography, endoscopy, rapid-scan CT imaging, high field MRI, and cardiac catheterization.

We are currently seeking skilled Registered Veterinary Technicians and Assistants to enhance our ICU team. If you are passionate about delivering top-tier nursing care and ensuring the comfort, safety, and health of your patients, the ICU is the ideal environment for you. ICU technicians play a vital role in providing outstanding nursing care for our hospitalized patients, collaborating closely with our specialists and emergency veterinarians.

Shifts Available:

  • 3rd shift ICU: 9pm to 7am
    • Work 7 days, followed by 7 days off
    • $3/shift differential applies
  • All schedules are full-time, with opportunities for overtime. Additional shifts may include bonuses.
  • As a 24/7 facility, weekend and holiday shifts are part of the role.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician is required
  • RVT certification preferred but not mandatory
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to lift up to 40lbs unassisted
  • Emotionally intelligent and capable of critical thinking
  • Able to safely restrain patients for extended periods
  • Proficient with technology, including electronic medical record systems and automated lab analyzers

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians in all aspects of patient care
  • Deliver advanced nursing care with compassion
  • Perform venipuncture: jugular, cephalic, saphenous
  • Place IV catheters
  • Conduct automated and manual laboratory analyses
  • Utilize digital radiology
  • Triage patients and anticipate the needs of veterinarians to maintain workflow
  • Induce anesthesia, perform endotracheal intubation, and monitor anesthesia
  • Provide compassionate customer service to clients
  • Conduct medical calculations
