The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in veterinary experience, with a focus on sterile processing and equipment management. This role is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of infection control and safety practices in the preparation, sterilization, and distribution of instrumentation and medical equipment for surgeries and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain proper sterile technique and ensure the accurate handling and care of instruments, including selection of cleaning agents, identification, and assembly.
- Proactively distribute all necessary equipment and instrumentation for surgeries and procedures, ensuring seamless workflow between operating rooms.
- Collect and sort used and contaminated equipment, instruments, and supplies for decontamination and sterilization.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot sterilization equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Restock surgical inventory and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- High School degree or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of Central Supply, Sterile Processing, or veterinary experience.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to lift up to 40 lbs. unassisted.
- Emotionally intelligent and possessing critical thinking skills.
- Comfortable using computers and familiar with infection control and safety practices.
