Charlotte Animal Referral & Emergency is a privately operated 24-hour Emergency and Specialty Referral Hospital that prides itself on fostering a vibrant workplace culture, a supportive atmosphere, comprehensive benefits, and avenues for professional advancement. Our facility offers a range of board-certified specialty services, including Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Oncology, and Surgery. We are equipped with advanced diagnostic tools such as ultrasonography, echocardiography, electroencephalography, endoscopy, rapid-scan CT imaging, high field MRI, and a cardio cath lab, among others.
We are currently in search of skilled veterinary technicians to join our dynamic Internal Medicine (IM) Service team. IM Technicians play a crucial role in managing client consultations, maintaining accurate daily records for emergency transfers or hospitalized patients, and assisting with in-house procedures. A high level of efficiency and meticulous attention to detail is essential. At our facility, IM technicians collaborate closely with board-certified Internists, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment including CT, endoscopy, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy. The IM service experiences a significant case load, and we seek technicians who can effectively multitask and prioritize their duties during busy periods.

Available Shifts:
- 10-hour daytime shifts
- Rotating holidays and weekends are required
- Overtime opportunities available
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician is required
- Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) are preferred but not mandatory
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficient in technology, including electronic medical record systems, automated lab analyzers, and digital radiology
- Capable of lifting 40 lbs unassisted
- Able to safely restrain patients for extended durations
- Strong critical thinking skills
- High emotional intelligence
- Willingness to learn and adapt
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Internist in all facets of patient care
- Managing the intake and discharge processes for hospitalized patients and procedures
- Delivering advanced nursing care to patients with empathy
- Performing venipuncture (jugular, cephalic, saphenous)
- Placing IV catheters
- Conducting both automated and manual laboratory analyses
- Utilizing digital radiology
- Executing medical calculations
- Inducing anesthesia, performing endotracheal intubation, and monitoring anesthesia
- Educating clients on patient conditions and care
- Providing compassionate customer service to clients
