Key Responsibilities:
- Performance Management - conduct daily discussions with inside sales representatives regarding objectives, projects, and behaviors.
- Performance Management - facilitate monthly one-on-one meetings lasting 45-60 minutes with inside and outside sales representatives.
- Oversee unique customer accounts and high-value placements on a weekly basis.
- Act as the primary contact for all outside sales representatives regarding product information and collaborate with the Purchasing department and individual buyers.
- Address new accounts, customer-related concerns, sales objectives, and new product introductions.
- Performance Management - organize bi-monthly inside sales team meetings.
- Discuss accomplishments, challenges, gather feedback, and motivate the team.
- Research potential leads and provide support to outside sales representatives as needed.
- Maintain current and accurate call sheets for sales representatives.
- Ensure consistent communication with sales representatives and management regarding critical account information.
- Manage scheduling and timekeeping for the team.
- Ensure punctuality and professionalism from yourself and your team.
- Handle incoming customer calls, prepare orders, and expedite processing.
- Propose and sell additional products over the phone.
- Notify customers of items not ordered or out of stock, offering substitutions where applicable.
- Verify the accuracy of incoming orders and collect orders submitted via fax, email, or voicemail.
- Minimum education: High School Diploma.
- Prior experience in food service distribution inside sales or customer service, and/or call center experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of food service products, product categories, and vendor relationships is preferred.
- Must be a collaborative team player with a positive demeanor.
- Excellent verbal, telephone, and written communication skills are essential. Data entry and 10-key experience are required.
- Self-motivated, professional, goal-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Must demonstrate a sense of urgency and the ability to work under pressure.
- Flexibility to work well with all departments and levels of staff, both internally and externally.
- Strong follow-through skills are essential.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
- Pay Type: Hourly
