About the Role

This position is part of the Process Automation Process Industries division at ABB, where we serve the mining, minerals processing, metals, cement, pulp and paper, battery manufacturing, and food and beverage industries.

As a Technical Sales Support Specialist-Southwest, you will be a key technical resource in the assigned area, supporting the Sales organization and customers during the proposal process.

You will showcase your expertise by preparing technical descriptions of products and technology, determining costs, and preparing final documentation.

The work model for this role is hybrid, and you will be mainly accountable for offering technical advice and solutions on inquiries from customers, performing analytic and diagnostic studies, developing and maintaining new sales opportunities, and ensuring achievement of targets.

Responsibilities

  • Offer technical advice and solutions on inquiries from customers/channels/Sales Specialists about ABB products/systems/applications.
  • Perform analytic and diagnostic studies to determine the optimal technical solution to meet customer needs and address complex inquiries.
  • Develop and maintain new sales opportunities and resolve specific customer problems; and ensure achievement of targets on orders, Net Price Variance (NPV), and Net Promoter Score (NPS).
  • Ensure the achievement of budget goals, including volume targets and profitable growth, across all assigned product groups and in the respective countries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field required or equivalent extensive technical work experience in Data Centers preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in sales or business development related to digital/automation solutions and products in a Process Industry required.
  • Experience in business development, capital equipment sales or service sales.
  • A focus on end users, listening and understanding their wants and needs, goals and objectives, how they buy, maintain their equipment, how they partner with suppliers.
  • Ability to support development of proposals and strategies that lead to winning orders.
  • Ability to travel 50% to 60% of the time.
  • A good understanding of the process control and automation solutions.
