Position Overview:

The Center for Alternative is seeking a Clinical Services Coordinator to become a vital member of its Intensive Services Unit within Pretrial Services. This role will focus on implementing progressive strategies to assist individuals enrolled in the Supervised Release Program who face significant challenges affecting their daily lives and overall engagement in the program. The ideal candidate will excel in a collaborative clinical environment and work closely with a Peer Specialist to deliver coordinated care. The primary demographic of program participants includes those dealing with issues related to mental health, substance use, employment, and medical health. Our team is dedicated to fostering proactive and sustained community engagement as a means of facilitating individual transformation by connecting participants with community partners and resources committed to helping them achieve their fullest potential. The Clinical Services Coordinator will play an essential role in providing direct support to participants, primarily in community settings, while also offering services at various program locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver community-based direct services to a specialized caseload of pretrial participants, including those with higher recidivism risks and mandated treatment requirements.
  • Conduct Intake Assessments promptly at the point of arraignment to identify immediate critical needs essential for maintaining program involvement.
  • Engage in regular team meetings and case conferences to ensure seamless coordination among staff and rapid responses to urgent participant needs.
  • Review legal and court documentation to facilitate participant admission and ongoing needs assessments, focusing on criminal history, psychosocial, developmental, and behavioral health needs.
  • Act as a designated staff member for high-risk cases, coordinating case reviews and conferences to ensure a collaborative approach for complex situations.
  • Facilitate collaboration with court services staff to ensure efficient enrollment of new participants while gathering necessary information for ongoing service provision.
  • Connect participants to emergency, housing, education, vocational, employment, and treatment services based on their individual preferences and needs.
  • Utilize problem-solving techniques and motivational interviewing to engage participants in the change process, ensuring a culturally competent and trauma-informed approach.
  • Provide culturally competent and anti-racist services in accordance with organizational policies, addressing the diverse needs of program participants.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the case record database, including assessments and progress notes, in compliance with confidentiality regulations.
  • Participate in clinical supervision, case reviews, staff meetings, and training sessions to enhance competencies in clinical practices and self-care.
  • Strive to meet established supervision, case coordination, and outcome goals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Team Leader to support the overall functioning of the program.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in social work, mental health counseling, psychology, or a related clinical field.
  • Active licensure in a clinical discipline in New York State is preferred.
  • One to two years of experience providing clinical services to individuals or groups facing challenges in behavioral health and the criminal legal system.
  • Experience delivering direct clinical services in a field-based setting is strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence are essential.
  • Ability to work effectively within a diverse team environment.
