Our organization specializes in advanced gynecologic care, focusing on various diagnostic and therapeutic options to address and manage gynecologic and urogynecologic conditions, including but not limited to fibroids and incontinence. We collaborate with each patient to create a personalized care management strategy, encompassing routine assessments to cutting-edge diagnosis and treatment for women across all age groups. We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Coordinator to join our dynamic team in delivering exceptional patient care.

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator will support physicians in all medical treatments and procedures, conduct preoperative patient interviews and evaluations, provide post-operative care and instructions, and prepare and administer prescribed medications and treatments in compliance with established standards. This role reports directly to the Division Administrator of Gynecologic Specialty Surgery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Division Administrator, Site Managers, Director of Outpatient Operations, Medical Director of Outpatient Practices, and Clinical Nurse Director to ensure all competencies and clinical responsibilities are fulfilled accurately.
  • Engage with the Division Administrator, Nurse Practitioners, and Practice Supervisors regarding administrative matters.
  • Monitor, document, and report on patients' conditions, reactions to medications and treatments, and compile patient laboratory data.
  • Assist physicians during clinical procedures and department-specific therapies.
  • Record patient histories and vital signs, perform venipuncture, administer injections, and collect/prep specimens.
  • Oversee the usage and ordering of medical equipment, surgical instruments, and supplies.
  • Manage triage calls and provide guidance to appropriate clinicians as necessary.
  • Contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of the existing laboratory and pathology tracking systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of all specimens collected and sent for testing.
  • Conduct weekly maintenance of equipment and emergency cart medications/supplies.
  • Ensure all medications and injections are properly logged and accounted for.
  • Prepare and administer prescribed medications in accordance with established protocols.
  • Track and monitor incidents related to risk management, medication errors, and other patient safety concerns.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and staff training.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree and four years of relevant experience.
  • A current Registered Nurse License in New York State, with maintenance and renewal as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of outpatient OB/GYN clinical experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
  • ACLS certification is preferred.
