Position Overview
The Financial Reporting Associate will play a crucial role in supporting Brinkman Real Estate Services by managing various accounting, financial, and operational tasks. This position requires a collaborative and dynamic approach to accounting practices.

We are looking for a dedicated accountant who possesses a proactive mindset, strong technical accounting expertise, tax knowledge, and excellent interpersonal skills to advance within the organization.

Ideal candidates should be flexible and eager to document and enhance cross-departmental processes. Experience in a public accounting environment is preferred, along with familiarity with Yardi or QuickBooks software.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver financial statements for a diverse portfolio of properties.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of financial statements for OneCanopy, our conservation-focused initiative.
- Review and reconcile subsidiary ledgers with financial reports.
- Post recurring entries and management fees accurately.
- Develop supporting schedules for accruals, prepaid expenses, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Analyze income statements for budget discrepancies, investigate the causes, and provide detailed analyses.
- Support the Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager with the posting of accounts payable.
- Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable balances effectively.
- Contribute to the tax return preparation process and collaborate with external CPA tax preparers.
- Assist in the formulation of budgets and forecasts for properties and operational entities.
- Aid in the preparation of cash flow statements for properties and operational entities, including forecasting future cash requirements.
- Help in the generation of monthly, quarterly, and annual investor reports.
- Manage financial forecasting models for operational entities.

Responsible for delivering precise and timely financial reporting to owners and investors, including monthly financial statements and quarterly updates.

- Assist in creating, documenting, and communicating systematic processes and internal controls to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.

- Engage in strategic initiatives aimed at improving operational processes and supporting the organizational culture through technology optimization and fostering an innovative and adaptable environment.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
- An MBA or CPA designation is advantageous.
- 0-2 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel with a focus on leveraging technology to enhance processes.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

- Must be detail-oriented, adept at meeting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and proactively communicating financial and operational issues to key stakeholders.

- Ability to thrive in a growing, entrepreneurial environment and embrace positive change.
- Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Strong relationship-building skills and a commitment to providing exceptional internal customer service.
- Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities and special projects.
- Effective communication skills.
- Experience with Yardi and QuickBooks software is preferred but not mandatory.
