POSITION SUMMARY:

The Procurement Specialist at Addman Engineering plays a crucial role in identifying, assessing, and selecting vendors to supply the essential materials, components, or products necessary for our operations. This position encompasses the procurement of all essential materials and maintenance supplies, customer service, and the management of shipping and receiving processes, as well as material planning.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure timely sourcing of appropriate materials with the right quality and cost
  • Foster and maintain relationships with suppliers, manage contracts, and resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing
  • Confirm all orders for acceptance
  • Procure materials to align with the production schedule
  • Acquire machine components and maintenance supplies
  • Maintain an updated vendor list and performance ratings
  • Address customer service inquiries and complaints
  • Generate reports on customer on-time delivery and inventory for month-end assessments
  • Oversee all aspects of material planning and shipping & receiving, including shipping lists, returns, personnel, and truck drivers
  • Apply six-sigma quality tools as needed to define, measure, analyze, improve, and control processes and outcomes
  • Responsible for maintaining and supporting processes, procedures, and KPIs relevant to this role
Requirements:

ITAR REQUIREMENTS:

To comply with U.S. export control regulations, applicants must be eligible for any necessary authorizations from the U.S. Government.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Proficient in basic office skills
  • Excellent communication abilities
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business or Supply Chain
  • 1-5 years of experience in procurement or sourcing
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks under pressure while prioritizing effectively
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • This role requires exposure to manufacturing areas where personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe shoes are mandatory.
  • Typical ambient temperatures and standard plant lighting are present throughout the facility.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to sit or stand as required.
  • Walking primarily on level surfaces for extended periods.
  • Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, or lifting as necessary to access documents or store materials.
  • Proper lifting techniques are essential.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
