About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Supply Chain Specialist to join our team at Mayo Clinic. As a key member of our Supply Chain team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing initiatives that drive efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with Travel Services, Logistics, Contracting, Master Data Management, and Procure to Pay teams to develop and implement initiatives that improve supply chain performance.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Review requests to ensure sourcing strategy aligns with SCM guidelines, policies, and strategies, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Vendor and Customer Management: Maintain relationships with vendors and customers to resolve business issues, negotiate product and service requirements, and provide guidance on purchasing and corporate card decisions.
  • Expense Management and Analysis: Analyze data to identify expense management and corporate credit card initiatives, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Project Participation: Participate in multiple work groups and assist with projects as directed by Leadership, conducting research and analysis to identify best practices and improvements.
  • Purchasing and Payables Programming: Administer specific purchasing and payables programming, managing day-to-day activities in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Policy Development and Training: Develop departmental policy and procedure documents, interpret and determine course of action when policies are violated, serve as contact for staff and customer questions, develop training, and create reference guides.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in Supply Chain, Business, or Finance.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Previous experience in purchasing/travel management, project and data management skills, and prior experience in developing and delivering training are preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of associated technologies and programs, including SIMS, Par Excellence, management of the Corporate Card Program, Remedy, and other productivity tools.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to work independently with little supervision, demonstrated understanding of accounting principles, analytical experience, and strong personal computer, communication, project management, leadership, problem-solving, continuous improvement, customer service, and team-building skills.
