Job Summary

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers to provide the raw materials, components, or products needed for operations. This role will also be responsible for the purchasing of all raw materials and maintenance supplies, customer service, managing shipping and receiving, material planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement and Sourcing: Ensure that the right materials are sourced at the right time, quality, and cost.
  • Supplier Management: Maintain relationships with suppliers, managing contracts, and addressing any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing.
  • Order Verification: Verify all orders for acceptance.
  • Purchasing and Inventory Management: Order and purchase materials to support production schedule, manage inventory levels, and maintain vendor list and ratings.
  • Customer Service: Respond to customer service-complaints, inquiries, etc.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Produce customer on-time delivery report and inventory reports for month end.
  • Material Planning and Shipping: Manage all facets of material planning and shipping & receiving: shipping list, returns, personnel and truck drivers, etc.
  • Process Improvement: Utilize six-sigma quality tools, when appropriate, to define, measure, analyze, improve and control processes and outcomes.
  • Process Ownership: Responsible to maintain & support processes, procedures & K.P.I.'s owned by your position.
Requirements
  • Education: College degree in a related field of study, such as: Business, Supply Chain, etc.
  • Experience: 1-5 years' experience in purchasing or sourcing.
  • Skills: Basic office skills, strong communication skills, computer literacy (Primarily Microsoft Excel, Word and other pertinent software).
Work Environment
  • The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, and other mandatory safety equipment.
  • For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility.
Physical Demands
  • Sit or stand as needed.
  • Walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.
  • Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, or lifting as required to reach documents or store materials throughout the workday.
  • Proper lifting techniques required.
  • Ability and comfortability to work in small confine spaces while following proper safety protocol.
  • Ability to accomplish the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
