Job Overview:

L3Harris is seeking a dedicated Procurement Specialist to enhance our operational capabilities. In this position, you will strategize and execute activities related to the acquisition of materials, goods, and services while adhering to regulatory standards. Your role will involve compiling and analyzing statistical data to assess the viability of purchasing products and/or services. You will also be responsible for sending Requests for Quotations (RFQs) to obtain pricing, evaluating bids, and making award decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret engineering drawings and schematics to grasp procurement and manufacturing needs.
  • Source and procure machinery, equipment, tools, raw materials, packaging materials, parts, services, and supplies essential for organizational operations.
  • Ensure supplier compliance through an online supplier portal and maintain accuracy of item part data attributes.
  • Analyze statistical data to evaluate the feasibility of purchasing products and set pricing objectives.
  • Review proposals, negotiate pricing, and select or recommend suppliers.
  • Prepare proposal requests that align with contract requirements.
  • Solicit and issue purchase orders in accordance with contract stipulations.
  • Engage in departmental and company-wide process improvements and lean initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with at least 2 years of related experience. Alternatively, a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Supply Chain principles, procurement processes, and concepts.
  • Understanding of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and Defense Acquisition Regulations (DFAR).
  • Experience in purchasing parts and/or services.
  • Self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and MRP systems for over 3 years.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, including the use of pivot tables and lookup tables.
