Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our team at Marriott International. As a key member of our IT infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing optimal LAN and WAN networks, providing architecture support to networks in data centers, corporate offices, and third-party co-location PoP sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Design and Architecture: Design and implement LAN and WAN networks, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load-balancers, to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Cloud Network Management: Manage Data Center & Cloud Networks products and solutions, including the design, low-level engineering, and delivery of new hardware systems for Marriott applications across the cloud and datacenter network.
  • Project Management: Approve and oversee projects to implement and maintain services while meeting deadlines.
  • Vendor Management: Manage vendors to meet obligations for engineering design, network implementation, and technical support service delivery and service restoration.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve operations processes, develop, and present best practices, technical concepts and technologies for innovative Data Center & Cloud Networks solutions.
  • Team Collaboration: Contribute input to help manage project schedules, risks, and costs, and train and/or mentor other team members and peers as appropriate.
  • Cross-Team Relationships: Establish cross-team relationships across Marriott to help define services and meet service level requirements.
  • Escalation Point: Serve as an escalation point to resolve service delivery and operational issues.
  • Service Delivery: Identify opportunities to enhance the service delivery processes.
  • Compliance: Follow all defined standards and processes, including IT Governance, SM&G, and Architecture.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology or a closely related field.
  • Experience: 7 years of progressively responsible professional network engineering or development experience, including 5 years in an IT infrastructure lead role, 4 years with Palo Alto and Check Point firewalls, and 4 years with AWS and Azure networking services.
  • Skills: Experience with network routing protocols, subnetting, network ARPs, and traceroute, as well as technical writing and delivering written documents pertaining to network solutions and diagrams.
