About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Architect to join our team at Leidos. As a Senior Cloud Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud-based solutions on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for our Federal Health customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement comprehensive GCP solutions, providing guidance on resource allocation, scalability, high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization.
  • Develop and maintain cloud architecture blueprints for enterprise applications and workloads.
  • Evaluate and recommend the most suitable GCP services and configurations for optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Design scalable and resilient cloud solutions that meet workload owners' specific requirements.
  • Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning and management using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like GCP Deployment Manager and Terraform.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with a minimum of 12+ years of experience architecting and implementing GCP cloud solutions.
  • Google Certified: GCP Solutions Architect Professional certification.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex migrations with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience with GCP cloud technologies and migration strategies.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools (Deployment Manager, Terraform) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
  • Experience with GCP DevOps for CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless computing.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • ITIL Foundations certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Deep understanding of GCP services (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, Cloud Functions, etc.) and their integration.
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash) and experience with automation frameworks.
  • Experience delivering IT services in support of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) or in a biomedical research environment.
  • One or more of the following certifications: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, PMI Project Management Professional (PMP).
