OnPoint Medical Group is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Coordinator to enhance our operations.

Role Overview:

The Patient Care Coordinator plays a crucial role in the front office of OnPoint Medical Group's clinics. This position is essential for welcoming patients, managing phone inquiries, activating patient records, and guiding patients through established protocols to ensure an efficient visit with healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Greet patients in a warm and professional manner, whether in person or via phone.
  2. Conduct pre-visit preparations, including contacting patients for updated insurance information and verifying coverage.
  3. Register new patients and confirm the accuracy of information for returning patients.
  4. Collect co-payments and other payments as necessary.
  5. Handle incoming calls to schedule appointments and serve as a liaison for patient inquiries to clinical staff.
  6. Perform administrative tasks to facilitate a seamless patient experience, ensuring timely billing and an organized front office.
  7. Make outbound calls to patients for appointment scheduling.
  8. Strive to meet or exceed established service standards.
  9. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  10. Exhibit punctuality and regular attendance as a fundamental aspect of the role.
  11. Follow management directives and collaborate effectively with team members.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must fulfill the essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are preferred:

Minimum Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient computer skills are essential.

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Some college education with a focus on medical, business, or accounting.
  • Experience in customer service roles.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or business office setting.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems, particularly Athenahealth.

Job Elements and Working Conditions:

  • Regularly required to stand, use hands for various tasks, and communicate effectively.
  • Occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • May need to lift or move items weighing up to 10 pounds frequently and occasionally more than 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
