Position Overview:
The Healthcare Service Coordinator operates in the front office of OnPoint Medical Group's medical clinics. This role is responsible for welcoming patients, managing phone inquiries promptly, activating patient files, and guiding patients through a predetermined protocol to facilitate a seamless visit with the clinic providers. Exceptional customer service is paramount, as this position often represents the first interaction that a patient has with OnPoint Medical Group.
Key Responsibilities:

- Greet incoming patients in person or via phone in a courteous and professional manner.
- Conduct pre-visit preparations, including contacting patients for updated insurance information, verifying insurance, and updating patient records.
- Register new patients and confirm the accuracy of information for existing patients.
- Collect co-pays and payments as necessary.
- Manage inbound calls to schedule patient appointments and serve as a liaison to clinical staff for patient inquiries.
- Complete administrative tasks that ensure a smooth patient visit, timely billing processes, and an organized front office environment.
- Conduct outbound calls to patients for appointment scheduling.
- Strive to meet or exceed established service standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Exhibit punctuality and regular attendance as a core responsibility at OnPoint Medical Group.
- Follow instructions and respond to management directives.
- Collaborate effectively in a team setting while also completing assigned tasks independently.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient computer skills are required.
Preferred Education/Experience:
- Some college education with a focus on medical, business, or accounting.
- Experience in customer service.
- Current CPR certification.
- 1-2 years of experience in a business office or clinical setting.
- Bilingual abilities.
- Familiarity with EMR systems, preferably Athenahealth practice management.
Supervisor Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Job Elements and Working Conditions:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and communicate verbally.
- Occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
