Position Overview:
The Healthcare Service Coordinator is an essential part of our front office team. This role involves welcoming patients, managing phone inquiries, activating patient records, and guiding patients through established protocols to facilitate their visits.
Key Responsibilities:
The following duties are representative of the essential functions of the position:
- Greet patients in a warm and professional manner, whether in person or via phone.
- Conduct pre-visit preparations, including updating insurance information and verifying patient records.
- Register new patients and ensure the accuracy of existing patient data.
- Collect co-pays and process payments as necessary.
- Handle incoming calls to schedule appointments and serve as a communication link between patients and clinical staff.
- Perform administrative tasks to maintain an organized and efficient front office environment.
- Make outbound calls to patients for appointment scheduling.
- Strive to meet or exceed established service standards.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Exhibit punctuality and regular attendance as a core responsibility.
- Follow management directives and instructions.
- Work collaboratively while also being able to complete individual tasks independently.

Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Minimum Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient computer skills are essential.
Preferred Education/Experience:
- Some college coursework in medical, business, or accounting fields.
- Experience in customer service roles.
- Current CPR certification.
- 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare or business office setting.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Familiarity with EMR systems, particularly Athenahealth, is preferred.
Job Environment:
- This position requires standing, using hands for various tasks, and effective communication.
- Occasional walking, sitting, and other physical activities may be necessary.
- Ability to lift and move items up to 25 pounds may be required.
- Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, with the ability to adjust focus.
