Position Summary:

Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Category Strategy, the Category Strategy Manager will be integral to a team dedicated to cultivating in-depth knowledge of assigned sectors and clients. This role is pivotal in transforming insights into scalable, client-focused solutions and strategic positioning for the NBCU portfolio. The Category Strategy team also spearheads thought leadership initiatives based on audience, content, media, and cultural trends on both national and global scales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a primary resource for comprehensive category research across Technology, Entertainment, and Telecommunications within NBCUniversal Ad Sales.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis on relevant categories, evolving consumer behaviors, and media industry trends.
  • Analyze datasets to extract valuable insights and present them in clear, polished materials for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create and deliver engaging narratives around relevant categories, highlighting trends and insights to support the development of client-centric strategies.
  • Gain extensive knowledge of the NBCUniversal portfolio and provide strategic sales positioning to distinguish NBCU offerings in the marketplace.
  • Transform insights and trends into compelling narratives that illustrate how Comcast/NBCU platforms can enhance a client's brand positioning through effective marketing and media investments.
  • Identify new revenue growth opportunities and collaborate with sales and cross-functional teams to leverage these prospects.
  • Organize and manage the daily operations of the Category Strategy team and relevant categories.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is essential.
  • The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a keen interest in advertising/media, consumer insights, and business.
  • Must possess strong communication, strategic narrative, and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building robust internal and external relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proactive in anticipating and addressing sales requests and client needs.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and efficiency in work processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required.
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization in the United States.

Work Environment:

This position is designated as hybrid, typically requiring in-office presence a minimum of three days per week.
