Overview

A prominent player in the financial services sector is seeking a Category Manager to enhance their Strategic Sourcing division, specifically focusing on the claims services category.

This position emphasizes the formulation and execution of strategies pertaining to claims services expenditure. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing strategic sourcing initiatives, implementing best practices, and conducting contract negotiations. This role operates independently, providing significant autonomy and exposure to senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and nurture relationships with both new and existing suppliers within the designated spend category.
  • Manage the complete lifecycle of expenditure and collaborate with the sourcing delivery team to implement innovative solutions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for business leaders, defining best practices, identifying new opportunities, and establishing key performance indicators.
  • Lead the entire process of sourcing events from start to finish.
  • Draft and evaluate contracts to ensure they meet high-quality standards.
  • Work collaboratively with various teams within the Claims organization.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate sourcing or procurement.
  • Proven experience in sourcing and negotiating contracts.
  • Background in the insurance sector or direct experience with claims-related expenditures.
  • Experience in leading strategic sourcing initiatives and managing contract negotiations and drafting.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with procurement tools such as Coupa or Ariba.
  • Bachelor's Degree is required; JD, Master's degree, or certification as a purchasing manager is highly preferred.
