Position Summary:
The Category Strategy Manager will report directly to the Senior Director of Category Strategy and will play a crucial role in our team. This position involves gaining in-depth knowledge of specific industries and clients, transforming insights into scalable, data-driven solutions that align with NBCUniversal's strategic objectives. The role also entails crafting thought leadership narratives based on audience, content, media, and cultural trends on both national and global scales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key resource for category research, focusing on Technology, Entertainment, and Telecommunications within NBCUniversal Ad Sales.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis on relevant categories, evolving consumer behaviors, and media industry trends.
  • Analyze datasets to extract meaningful insights and create polished materials for internal and external audiences.
  • Develop and present compelling narratives that highlight trends and insights, aiding in the formulation of client-centric strategies.
  • Acquire comprehensive knowledge of the NBCUniversal portfolio to provide strategic positioning that differentiates our offerings in the marketplace.
  • Transform insights and trends into engaging narratives that demonstrate how NBCUniversal platforms can enhance a client's brand positioning.
  • Identify potential revenue growth opportunities and collaborate with sales and cross-functional teams to leverage these prospects.
  • Manage the daily operations of the Category Strategy team, ensuring organization and efficiency.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is necessary.
  • The ideal candidate will possess strategic thinking skills with a keen interest in advertising, media, and consumer insights.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive approach to addressing sales requests and client needs.
  • Excellent attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization in the United States.
