Position Summary:
The Category Strategy Manager will report directly to the Senior Director of Category Strategy and will play a pivotal role in developing a comprehensive understanding of designated industries and clients. This position is essential for translating insights into scalable, client-focused solutions that enhance the NBCU portfolio. The manager will also contribute to crafting thought leadership narratives based on audience, content, media, and cultural trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a primary resource for in-depth category research, focusing on Technology, Entertainment, and Telecommunications within NBCUniversal Ad Sales.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of relevant categories, evolving consumer behaviors, and media industry trends.
  • Utilize data analysis to extract meaningful insights and present them in polished materials for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create and deliver compelling narratives that highlight trends and insights, facilitating the development of client-centric strategies.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the NBCUniversal portfolio to provide strategic positioning that differentiates our offerings in the marketplace.
  • Transform insights and trends into engaging narratives that demonstrate how NBCU platforms can effectively support client brand strategies.
  • Identify potential revenue growth opportunities and collaborate with sales and cross-functional teams to leverage these prospects.
  • Manage and organize the daily operations of the Category Strategy team, ensuring efficient project execution.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is essential.
  • Strategic thinker with a keen interest in advertising/media, consumer insights, and business development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building and maintaining relationships.
  • Able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive in anticipating and addressing sales requests and client needs.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work efficiently and accurately.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime as necessary.
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization in the United States.
