The Category Strategy team is also tasked with crafting thought leadership narratives that are rooted in audience behavior, content, media, and cultural trends on both national and global scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a key resource for category research, focusing on sectors such as Technology, Entertainment, and Telecommunications within NBCUniversal Ad Sales.
- Conduct thorough research, analysis, and reporting on relevant categories, evolving consumer behaviors, and media industry trends.
- Analyze datasets to extract valuable insights and present them in clear, polished materials for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Create and deliver compelling narratives around relevant categories, highlighting trends and insights to support the development of client-focused strategies and category-specific solutions.
- Acquire a comprehensive understanding of the NBCUniversal portfolio and provide strategic sales positioning to distinguish the NBCU offerings in the marketplace.
- Transform insights and trends into engaging narratives that illustrate how Comcast/NBCU platforms can effectively realize a client's brand positioning through comprehensive marketing and media investments.
- Identify potential revenue growth opportunities and collaborate with sales and cross-functional teams to leverage these prospects.
- Organize, manage, and oversee the daily operations of the Category Strategy team and relevant categories.
- Mentor and guide junior team members as needed, including Ad Sales Rotational Associates and interns.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is necessary.
- The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a keen interest in advertising/media, consumer insights, and business.
- Must possess strong communication, strategic narrative, and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building and nurturing robust internal and external relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Proactive in anticipating and addressing sales requests and client needs.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently and accurately.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required.
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
