POSITION SUMMARY:

The Systems Administrator is responsible for overseeing a significant array of both on-site and remote system resources. This role guarantees the operational efficiency (maintenance, configuration, and optimal uptime) of workstations and servers. The Systems Administrator investigates emerging technologies to ensure the organization adopts best practices in cybersecurity and automation.

This position operates autonomously with minimal supervision, providing updates on major activities during scheduled meetings.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Educational Background: A minimum of 2 years of formal education in computer science or a related field. Alternatively, 4 years of relevant work experience may substitute for formal education.

Professional Experience: At least 2 years of hands-on experience with server hardware, software, networking, and Microsoft 365/Office 365.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and auto liability insurance, with a driving record acceptable to the organization’s insurance standards.
  • Must successfully complete criminal history and background checks, as well as a pre-employment drug screening.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor system logs and identify potential issues with computer systems and servers.
  • Document system configurations as necessary.
  • Implement operating system updates, patches, and configuration modifications. Responsible for performance optimization, uptime assurance, and troubleshooting.
  • Install, configure, and maintain server software, including antivirus and encryption tools.
  • Ensure system security and track any suspected cybersecurity incidents.
  • Configure and troubleshoot cloud-based solutions.
  • Create and manage internal user accounts and cloud-based services.
  • Assist clinical staff with documentation and troubleshooting of electronic health records (EHR).
  • Provide backup support for data management tasks.
  • Offer user support for Microsoft Office, Windows, and networking issues.
  • Monitor the performance of systems, networks, and applications.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
  • Install and configure operating systems and network equipment.
  • Perform system upgrades and backups.
  • Maintain comprehensive system documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and apply necessary updates.
  • Manage user accounts and permissions effectively.
  • Respond to technical assistance requests from users.
  • Maintain accurate hardware inventory records.
  • Safeguard sensitive information in compliance with legal and organizational standards.
  • Exhibit consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Adhere to the organization’s Code of Conduct and ethical standards.
  • Foster effective working relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Participate in team meetings and community activities as required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Proficient in Windows operating systems and server management.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for server management.
  • Understanding of network installation and management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues independently.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality practices.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift and carry light loads (under 15 lbs).
  • Proficient in operating office and mechanical equipment.
  • Capability to drive a vehicle as required for job duties.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Travel may be required.
  • Work in both collaborative and independent settings.
