POSITION SUMMARY:

The Systems Administrator is responsible for overseeing the extensive infrastructure of both on-site and remote system assets. This role guarantees operational efficiency (maintenance, configuration, and optimal uptime) for workstations and servers. The Systems Administrator investigates emerging technologies to ensure the organization adopts best practices, cybersecurity measures, and automation strategies.

This position operates autonomously, with limited oversight, and communicates significant activities through regular meetings.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Required: Minimum of 2 years of formal computer training. 4 years of relevant job experience may substitute for educational requirements.

Experience Required: At least 2 years of experience with server hardware, software, networking, and Microsoft365/Office 365.

Certifications or Licenses Required:
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and maintain auto liability insurance with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must pass criminal history and background checks, as well as pre-employment drug screening.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Analyze system logs to identify potential issues with computer systems/servers as necessary.
  • Document system configurations as required.
  • Apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes. Responsible for performance tuning, uptime, and troubleshooting issues and downtime. Maintain a reconciled list of machines and their updated status monthly.
  • Install, configure, and maintain software on servers, including anti-virus, mobile connectivity, and encryption; repair and maintain servers; migrate servers. Distribute relevant documentation to IS Share and communicate its location.
  • Ensure system security and track all suspected cybersecurity breaches in the Tracking Logs spreadsheet daily.
  • Configure and troubleshoot cloud-based solutions.
  • Create and manage internal user accounts and cloud-based email, One Drives, and SharePoint accounts.
  • Assist clinical staff with documentation entry and troubleshoot any issues encountered with the EHR as needed.
  • Provide backup support for batching records when the Data Coordinator is unavailable.
  • Offer user support for Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows, email, and networking issues.
  • Monitor the performance of computer systems, networks, and applications.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
  • Install and configure operating systems, applications, and network equipment.
  • Perform system upgrades and patches.
  • Conduct system backups and disaster recovery operations.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation.
  • Monitor system security and apply necessary security patches.
  • Optimize system performance and resources.
  • Create and manage user accounts and permissions.
  • Respond to user requests for technical assistance.
  • Maintain hardware inventory records.
  • Ensure confidentiality of sensitive records and client information in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain reliable physical on-site attendance. Regular attendance, dependability, and promptness are required for the scheduled workday.
  • Comply with policies and reporting requirements.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals served and their families, supervisors, co-workers, and visitors.
  • Communicate regularly with supervisors.
  • Process mail/email in a timely manner.
  • Answer phone calls, collect messages, and respond to requests promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures and regulations.
  • Perform all work functions using a trauma-informed approach.
  • Display professionalism when representing the organization in the community.
  • Maintain compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Complete all assigned training prior to due dates.
  • Other duties as assigned.
MARGINAL DUTIES:
  • Fill in for other IT staff as needed.
  • Support clinical staff with documentation entry and troubleshoot EHR issues as needed.

  • Participate in team meetings or staffings.
  • Engage in community activities and/or attend community meetings as needed.
  • Participate in workgroups and committees as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of Windows Desktop and server operating systems installation and usage.
  • Basic knowledge of Power Shell Scripting for Microsoft Server Management.
  • Knowledge of network installation and management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Familiarity with security best practices and system auditing procedures.
  • Experience with cloud computing services.
  • Effective multi-tasking and organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
