The Systems Administrator is responsible for overseeing a comprehensive infrastructure of both on-site and remote system resources. This role is crucial in maintaining operational efficiency (maintenance, configuration, and optimal uptime) for both workstations and servers. The Systems Administrator actively investigates emerging technologies to ensure the organization adheres to best practices, cybersecurity measures, and automation strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor system logs to identify potential issues with computer systems and servers.
- Document system configurations as necessary.
- Implement operating system updates, patches, and configuration modifications. Ensure performance tuning, uptime, and troubleshooting of issues. Provide a monthly report to the supervisor detailing the status of machines.
- Install, configure, and maintain server software, including anti-virus and mobile connectivity solutions. Repair and migrate servers as needed.
- Ensure system security and track any suspected cybersecurity incidents in the Tracking Logs spreadsheet daily.
- Configure and troubleshoot cloud-based solutions and video conferencing systems.
- Create and manage internal user accounts and cloud-based services.
- Assist clinical staff with documentation and troubleshooting of electronic health records (EHR).
- Provide backup support for data management when necessary.
- Offer user support for Microsoft Office, Windows, and networking issues.
- Oversee the performance of computer systems, networks, and applications.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software challenges.
- Install and configure operating systems and network equipment.
- Conduct system upgrades and apply security patches.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation.
- Monitor system security and optimize resources.
- Manage user accounts and permissions effectively.
- Respond to technical assistance requests from users.
- Maintain hardware inventory records.
- Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance to ensure program consistency.
- Adhere to the organization's Code of Conduct and standards of behavior.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding job responsibilities.
- Participate in team meetings and community activities as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of formal computer education or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of experience with server hardware, software, networking, and Microsoft 365.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Successful completion of background checks and drug screening.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient in Windows operating systems and server management.
- Knowledge of network installation and management.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues independently.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills and cultural sensitivity.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform light lifting and carrying.
- Capable of standing, sitting, and operating office equipment.
- Driving may be required for this position.
