POSITION SUMMARY:

The Systems Administrator is responsible for overseeing the extensive infrastructure of both on-site and remote system assets. This role guarantees operational efficiency (maintenance, configuration, and optimal uptime) for both workstations and servers. The Systems Administrator investigates emerging technologies to ensure the organization adopts best practices, cybersecurity measures, and automation solutions.

This position operates autonomously, with limited supervision, reporting significant activities through regular meetings.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Required: Minimum of 2 years of formal computer education. 4 years of relevant job experience may substitute for educational requirements.

Experience Required: At least 2 years of experience with server hardware, software, networking, and Microsoft365/Office 365.

Certifications and Licenses Required:
  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver's license, auto liability insurance, and a driving record acceptable to PermiaCare's insurance standards.
  • Must successfully pass criminal history and background checks as well as pre-employment drug screening.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Analyze system logs to identify potential issues with computer systems/servers as necessary.
  • Document system configurations as required.
  • Apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes. Responsible for performance tuning, uptime, and troubleshooting issues and downtime. Document and report to the supervisor a reconciled list of machines and their updated status monthly.
  • Install, configure, and maintain software on servers, including anti-virus, mobile connectivity, and encryption. Repair and maintain servers, migrate servers, and distribute relevant documentation to IS Share while communicating its location.
  • Ensure system security and track all suspected cybersecurity breaches in the Tracking Logs spreadsheet daily.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Zoom Rooms and other cloud-based solutions.
  • Create and manage the agency's internal user accounts and cloud-based email, One Drives, and SharePoint accounts.
  • Support clinical staff in entering documentation and troubleshooting any issues encountered with the EHR as needed.
  • Provide backup for batching records when the Data Coordinator is unavailable.
  • Offer user support as backup in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows, email, and networking issues.
  • Monitor the performance of computer systems, networks, and applications.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
  • Install and configure operating systems, applications, and network equipment.
  • Perform system upgrades and patches.
  • Conduct system backups and disaster recovery operations.
