Lead Clinician for Supported Education and Employment

Compensation: $64,928 - $75,000
The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene Inc. (RFMH) is in search of a dedicated professional to assume the role of Primary Clinician/ Supported Education Employment Specialist. This position is integral to the Washington Heights Community Service at the New York State Psychiatric Institute. The OnTrack NY Program is a Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) initiative aimed at assisting adolescents and young adults facing early psychosis. Our commitment is to empower youth to navigate their experiences and pursue their aspirations in education, employment, and interpersonal relationships. Central to our mission are principles of equity, inclusion, rapid access, and self-determination.
The Primary Clinician/ Supported Education Employment Specialist will engage in a full-time, on-site role, dedicating 50% of their time to delivering clinical services to program participants and their families, while the remaining 50% will focus on facilitating participants' educational and vocational goals. The OnTrack NY model emphasizes a hopeful, youth-centered, recovery-oriented approach, fostering a collaborative team environment, maintaining a manageable participant load, and providing ongoing training and support in the CSC framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acting as the Primary Clinician/ Supported Education Employment Specialist for a designated group of program participants, which includes conducting assessments, treatment planning, risk assessment, safety planning, individual therapy, care management, and family support services. Additionally, providing community-based services as necessary and assisting participants in transitioning to other support services.
- Building trusting, collaborative relationships with participants aimed at achieving educational and employment objectives; working alongside team members to deliver Supported Education and Employment (SEE) services, such as exploring interests and practicing job-related skills; offering job development and search assistance tailored to participants' preferences; supporting participants in their educational pursuits, including coordination with schools and educational institutions; and facilitating access to entitlement counseling for participants and their families.
- Collaborating with team members and actively participating in weekly team meetings.
- Ensuring timely and accurate documentation of all services rendered.
- Completing necessary data reporting for program evaluation and fidelity assessments.
- Demonstrating computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, and having the ability to learn Microsoft Outlook.
- Participating in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for urgent clinical matters.
- Performing additional tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Licensed Master's degree in a relevant clinical field (e.g., social work, mental health counseling).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience and training in working with adolescents and/or adults diagnosed with mental health conditions.
- Background in providing employment or educational services.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
