Role Summary

The Employment Support Specialist plays a crucial role in guiding clients towards acquiring the essential education, vocational skills, and work attitudes necessary for successful employment. This position adheres to the evidence-based Individualized Placement and Support (IPS) model to ensure effective service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive vocational profiles through assessments, including TABE testing, to assist clients in setting realistic vocational goals.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of individual and group sessions.
  • Administer and interpret vocational assessments to evaluate clients' skills and interests.
  • Facilitate referrals to Adult Career and Continuing Education Services - Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR) and ensure follow-up support.
  • Address any issues related to vocational and educational services during interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Provide ongoing support to clients in vocational and educational training, including coaching on study techniques and test preparation.
  • Lead discussion groups focused on vocational awareness and job-seeking strategies.
  • Collaborate with counselors and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement vocational treatment plans.
  • Conduct pre-screening sessions and manage the online application process for employment initiatives.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement activities.
  • Establish and maintain connections with community organizations for additional support services and employment tracking.
  • Foster partnerships with universities to facilitate internships for master's level Vocational Rehabilitation Credentialing.
  • Assist clients in achieving their employment and vocational objectives outlined in their service plans.
  • Perform other essential duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) credential is required.
  • CASAC credential is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in providing vocational and educational services within a residential treatment environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, complemented by excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting, demonstrating multitasking capabilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential.
  • Effective participation in a team-oriented environment.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule, including weekends as necessary.
