Position Overview

The Chief People Officer serves as a vital collaborator to the CEO and the executive leadership team, playing a key role in shaping organizational strategy, prioritizing initiatives, and defining performance metrics across the company. This role is responsible for overseeing human resources operations as well as spearheading diversity and inclusion efforts within the organization.

Role Title: Chief People Officer

Department: Human Resources

Employment Type: Full-time; 40 hours/week, Monday – Friday (Exempt)

Compensation Range: $180,000-$200,000/year

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Actively participate in the executive leadership team to set long-term strategic, operational, and financial goals for Lifeworks.
  • Provide guidance to the President and CEO regarding the supervision and development of the executive team, including talent assessment and succession planning.
  • Support the Compensation Committee of the Lifeworks Board by providing necessary information and attending meetings as required.
  • Lead the design and continuous enhancement of human resources strategies, operational plans, and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Oversee investigations related to workplace complaints and ensure effective communication with affected parties.
  • Champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility initiatives within the organization.
  • Manage human resources information systems (HRIS) and related software platforms.
  • Identify and report key metrics for human resources performance to inform planning and development.
  • Supervise and mentor direct reports, fostering their professional growth.
  • Develop and implement staff development plans aligned with organizational goals.
  • Promote Lifeworks' culture and values to attract and retain high-quality staff.
  • Represent Lifeworks' human resources functions to external stakeholders.
  • Engage in professional development to enhance industry knowledge.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field, with a minimum of ten years of experience, including seven years in a management role.
  • Master's degree in human resources and relevant certifications preferred.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, project management, and data analysis.
  • Strong relationship-building skills across various organizational levels.
  • Ability to operate independently while consulting when necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on empathy and inclusivity.
  • Familiarity with HRIS technology and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of industry trends in human resources and diversity initiatives.
  • Strong financial management and information technology skills.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screening is required.
