Job Summary:
The Special Education Teacher for Emotional Support will develop and provide specialized instruction to middle school and high school students with emotional support needs within the Reading School District. Reporting to the Supervisor of Special Education, this position will establish a supportive learning environment, evaluate and assess student progress relative to instructional objectives, provide guidance to support staff, and coordinate delivery of special education services in each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with emotional support needs
- Provide specialized instruction to students in a supportive learning environment
- Evaluate and assess student progress relative to instructional objectives
- Provide guidance and support to support staff
- Coordinate delivery of special education services in each student's IEP
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field required; Master's degree in Special Education preferred
- PA Special Education Teacher certification for Middle School or High School required by start of employment
- Previous Special Education Teacher experience required; student teaching experience also considered
